Make something meaningful
There’s a place for you here.
A story to share. A group to bring together. A few supplies to spare. There’s more than one way to be part of Stitches.

Three ways to take part
It starts with what you can share.
Share your story
Give a cloth doll your own voice. We’ll help you with the materials, forms, and next steps.
Host a workshop or exhibit
Make room for stories in your school, organization, or community. Bring people together to create, learn, and listen.
Give money or materials
Give money, donate craft materials, or sponsor a doll. Every kind of support has a part to play.
Why we make room for these stories
A small doll can start a conversation.
Stitches began with the stories of women living with HIV/AIDS. The collection also holds voices shaped by bleeding disorders, violence, and trauma.
Through handmade dolls, those experiences reach classrooms, conferences, and communities. Your participation helps the stories keep traveling.
Spend time with the dollsA conversation is a good place to start
Not sure where to begin?
Tell Kathy what you have in mind. Whether you want to make, give, or bring the dolls to your community, she can help you find a starting point.
